Our artists have been busy helping organisations locally and nationally, here are some examples which may inspire you!
Eureka! Children’s Museum
In June 2014 two of our artists spent 5 days making bird-themed artwork with visitors at the Eureka Children’s Museum in Halifax.
As part of their Mini Makers Fair the grand finale featured bird masks, giant bird puppets and our fabulous Handmade Samba band in a mini parade on their site at Eureka!
Darlington school children had a fantastic time creating costumes when our artists travelled to work with them in their classrooms in Darlington.
5 different schools participated in this fantastic opportunity to make their own costumes with Handmade Parade artists.
On event day, joined by some of our Handmade Flags to add that extra flare, we created a dynamic section within the Darlington Carnival.
Otley Victorian Fair
In October half term, two of our Lamplighter artists delivered 4 lantern-making workshops at Otley Courthouse Arts Centre.
The participants then returned to parade their artwork through the streets of Otley for the Annual Victorian Fair.
Otley hired our Moon and Stars lanterns to add a little of our Lamplighter magic to their parade.
Skipton Puppet Festival
Skipton festival hired us for 5 weeks to deliver workshops in local schools and a summer holiday club where our artists created giant puppets and costumes for the parade in Early October.
